It's odd that you say the actors sound wooden in the dub. Most of the cast is veterans or people who've been around for a year or two, no one super super new, they've all done dubs in the past and sounded fine. Dawn Bennet has been around for a while now and so has Garret Storms (Two people who's characters you called flat) so it's odd. Although Storms usually plays characters who are dreary and wooden in personality like Rouge from Fairy Tail.

I enjoyed this show far more then I thought I would. The songs were catchy, the guys were campy but had moments where they were pretty cool. Loved the subtle character development and the way some of the guys are caught off guard and have to will themselves back to their bad boy persona. It was just fun. It didn't take itself completely seriously which really helped.
PS: Nobody burned down Ritsuka's house. The only house burned down was in episode 2 and belonged to her grandfather. Ritsuka's house is fine. |

I loved the musical aspect of this and you can't beat singing Pomeranians, but Ritsuka was such an airhead she kinda soured the whole series for me. I'm still waiting for another reverse harem that's as good or better than Kamigami no Asobi.

I'm more curious how the upcoming Dance with Devils movie wants to continue the TV anime's legacy. Will it be a sequel, a recap, or something else?
And then there's the multiple love interest endings... |

Well, Kyle Phillips was the ADR Director of this show, and this was at the beginning of his directing career. This was before Dagashi Kashi, where he started to find his footing. Compare this dub to his dubs being released today, namely Kino's Journey and The Ancient Magus' Bride, and it's like night and day. He's improved a lot since then. |

I agree on this front, I think this reviewer and the anime community at large puts way too much blame on the actors for a bad dub when it’s largely the director’s fault as he’s the one who, well, directs them and is there for QC while the actors are not. It’s the same reason that dubs like Clannad can be criticized for their quality while dubs like Princess Tutu and Ouran, which were done around the same time with a fair amount of cast overlap, can be complimented. Overall, this was a good review, though. It’s not anything i would check out on my own but if it’s stupid fun it may be worth it. |

I really appreciate the effort to translate the songs even if it did turn out perfect. It mean we're closer to getting the same experience as the Japanese.

The dub is worth watching for no other reason than "Rappin' Ricco™" in episode 5.

I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It was really funny in its tackiness and how it embraced it.
Ritsuka kind of pissed me off because she did the typical "keep doing what you shouldn't do and get in trouble every episode" thing but I guess they needed that for the plot. The songs weren't amazing but they were fun. My favourite was Lowen's song (it's kind of catchy, he's also my fave character), plus, singing Pomeranians. The songs also gave us lines like EMO LIAR. I liked that the songs reflected the characters well enough, like how Mage raps. Something to keep in mind is this series is surprisingly violent. Like, people get killed and the last episode has heaps of blood. It got MA15+ in Australia because of the violence.
Oh. my god.
Can't remember if it's a sequel or what, but there are multiple endings for the movie where she picks a certain boy. So basically cinemagoers went to see the movie version that ends with her picking their Best Boy. |

KamiAso is the best otome game anime, period (though, Code:Realize this season is pretty good, too). I wanted to like this show, because it's from Rejet (they also do Marginal #4, which I am in love with), and it's a musical, and I love musicals. But... the characters are bland, and the songs aren't that great. With Marginal #4 and StarMyu (not by Rejet, but a musical) to compare it to (both of which have great character writing and great songs), I didn't feel any reason to continue it... I wish they'd dub StarMyu, though. |

Yeah, like Clue, only if you knew all the endings of Clue and you knew in advance which character you wanted to see as the culprit and thus picked which cinema to go to. Only these are all showing at the same cinemas so you don't have to travel all the way to like Osaka just to see Mage's ending. |

.... though knowing fans in Japan, people would. I know someone who went from Tokyo to Kyoto just to go to a StarMyu cafe. ... I know someone from China who went from Shanghai to Tokyo just to see Tsukiuta's "Lunatic Live", then saw them again when they toured to Shanghai. Though, they also took the opportunity to go to Tokyo Disney Sea while they were there, so that's probably worth it. And then there's all the Japanese fans who came all the way to see their favorite idol group's concert... at a convention in New Jersey. Though, to be fair, I've seen Americans who came to New York from Texas for a Broadway star's panel and autographs in a book store, so it's not exclusive to Japan or anime/idols. |

Oh, absolutely, they would. That's why I said "don't have to", because I know they would totally do it if needed, but this way at least it's a bit cheaper for them 
Heck, I would travel pretty far if it was for something I really really loved that I had no chance to see anywhere else. |
