Distribution company GKIDS reporteed on Facebook that A-1 Pictures' Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW anime film will get a Blu-ray Disc and DVD release in North America on October 14.
The 2010 anime feature film Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW is a science-fiction family film that begins during the summer vacation of fifth grader Natsuki Ōyama, who just moved into the countryside. She and four of her schoolmates embark on an space-spanning adventure that takes them beyond the fields they call home.
Distribution companies GKIDS and Cinedigm announced last year that the two are teaming up to launch a new multi-platform animation label. With the partnership, GKIDS will continue to distribute films theatrically, and Cinedigm will handle "ancillary distribution" under the GKIDS brand. The two companies announced they will be releasing seven new GKIDS titles on home video under the new partnership, including Hiroyuki Okiura and Production I.G's A Letter to Momo film and Goro Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's From Up On Poppy Hill film.
