Arc System Works announced on Friday that its BlazBlue Continuum Shift "Live Act" stage play will get a reboot this year. The original stage play ran in 2014.
The new stage play will run for eight performances from August 10-14 at the Shinjukumura LIVE theater in Tokyo. Arc System Works is credited with the original work and editorial supervision. Tete Inoue is directing the play, and Rasputin Yano is writing the script. Actor and stunt performer Jun Watanabe is the "action coordinator" for the play. The staff will announce the show's cast at a later date.
BlazBlue Continuum Shift arrived in Japanese arcades in November 2009, and Arc System Works then released the game on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in July 2010 in Japan and Aksys Games released the game in the same month in North America. The game saw two expansions titled BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend.
The latest game in the BlazBlue franchise, BlazBlue CentralFiction, debuted in Japanese arcades in November. Arc System Works will release the game for the PS3 and PS4 this fall in Japan.
