Tokyo Int'l Film Festival Screens Genocidal Organ Preview, Gantz:O, In the Corner of this World Films

The Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) announced its lineup on Monday for the 29th official festival. This year's festival will be held from October 25 through November 3 at Roppongi Hills, EX Theater Roppongi, and other venues in Tokyo.
The following films will screen out of competition in the following categories:
Special Screenings
- Live-action Museum film (screens before film opens in Japan on November 12)
- Live-action Itazura Kiss the Movie in High School (Itazura na Kiss the Movie ~High School-Hen~) film (first of a two-part film project, screens before film opens in Japan on November 25)
- In This Corner of the World anime film (screens before film opens in Japan on November 12)
Special Program
- GANTZ:O CG animated film
- Cyborg 009 Call of Justice Chapter I CG animated film (screens before film opens in Japan on November 25)
Japan Now
- Live-action Shin Godzilla film
- your name. anime film
Japanese Classics
- Live-action King Kong vs. Godzilla film
Open-Air Cinema Arena
- Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV CG animated film
Open-Air Special Event
- Live-action Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon - Train On shorts
TIFF Ani!!
- Genocidal Organ anime film (film is currently slated for release this winter)
- Chain Chronicle theatrical/TV anime (first of three theatrical chapters opens in Japan on December 3)
TIFF Children
- Tonko House's "Moom" CG animated short
Additionally, this year's festival will host a "World of Mamoru Hosoda in Animation Focus" event, which will feature the following works by Hosoda: The Boy and The Beast, Wolf Children, Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Digimon Adventure (Digimon Adventure: Born of Koromon), Digimon Adventure Our War Game (Digimon Adventure: Bokura no War Game), Superflat Monogram, The Creatures from Planet 66 ~Roppongi Hills Story~ (collaboration with Takashi Murakami), Magical Do Re Mi (Ojamajo Doremi DOKKAAN!) episode 40, and Nadja opening and ending sequences.
The competition will also highlight the works of The Case of Hana & Alice director Shunji Iwai, although the competition will not screen that particular film.
The festival will screen 16 films in competition, and two of the films are Japanese: Daigo Matsui's Japanese Girls Never Die live-action film and Kiki Sugino's Snow Woman live-action film
The festival offered a special Gundam program last year, and two years ago the festival hosted a large event dedicated to the works of Hideaki Anno.
Update: Tokyo International Film Festival clarified that the Genocidal Organ premiere is a preview of part of the film, not the entire film.
