MIYAVI's “Get Wild” Lyric Video Released; Original Album Planned for Next Spring

MIYAVI 20th & Beyond, MIYAVI's 20th anniversary project, has finally begun.

To kick off the project, MIYAVI has released a lyric video for “Get Wild,” a song from his upcoming anime song cover album MIYAVIVERSE - Anima -. The video shows a figure marching forward in a purple space, surrounded by futuristic buildings and lighting effects. It is reminiscent of the ending theme of the anime City Hunter, in which the song was originally used, making it an enjoyable work for anime fans.

The second work of the 20th anniversary project will be an original album coming out next spring, and production is currently underway. This will be MIYAVI's first original album since he released Imaginary in September 2021. MIYAVI creates his own unique sound by incorporating various elements without borders, so we look forward to seeing what he will come up with this time!

MIYAVI is currently doing a major 20th anniversary tour throughout North America, and photos from the just-concluded Los Angeles concert have arrived, conveying his powerful performance and the enthusiasm of the audience.

His 20th anniversary year has finally begun, so please keep an eye out for future developments!

MIYAVI Profile

MIYAVI has gained worldwide attention as a guitarist for his unconventional “slap guitar” style, in which he plays the electric guitar with his fingers instead of a pick. He's performed more than 380 live shows in 30 some countries, and has 8 successful world tours under his belt. Other accomplishments include arranging the Japanese version of the theme song for the blockbuster film Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, producing music for a Honda commercial, creating music for SMAP, and working with various other artists. In September 2021, he released the album Imaginary and successfully completed a 20-show North American tour, a 5-show Japan tour, and a 2-show Hawaii tour.

In addition to his musical activities, he is also active as an actor and a model. In 2017, he became the first Japanese to be appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). As the “Samurai Guitarist,” he is constantly taking on new challenges and is one of the most promising Japanese artists active on the international stage.
